Our Mission
Children House works to strengthen the autonomy of children, youth, and families by supporting education,
protection, and sustainable access to essential services such as clean water and community health.
OUR STRATEGIC EVOLUTION
From Grassroots Support to Structural Change
At Children House, we believe that development is not a series of isolated acts, but a continuous journey toward self-reliance. For over two decades, our identity has been rooted in the « Autonomy Foundation »—equipping families with the vocational skills and social protection needed to thrive.
As we look toward the next 20 years, we are scaling our impact by addressing the environmental and health barriers that keep communities in a cycle of dependency. The Liberia WASH Initiative is the hallmark of this new era, merging our deep community trust with technical innovation to ensure that clean water is never again an obstacle to a child’s education or a family’s economic future.
Strengthening Community Ownership
For over 25 years, Children House has focused on building autonomy rather than dependency.
We empower local communities to take ownership of their own development projects.
Strategic Liaison in Remote Locations
Children House serves as the vital link between international technical partners and the remote communities we serve.
We specialize in identifying structural obstacles in hard-to-reach areas and implementing tailored solutions like the Liberia WASH Initiative.
Our expertise on the ground ensures that large-scale infrastructure projects are successfully deployed and sustainably maintained.

FEATURED INITIATIVE
Liberia WASH Initiative
The Liberia WASH Initiative is a large-scale strategic maturation of Children House’s 25-year mission, designed to provide safe water access to over 300,000 people by rehabilitating over 600 water points developed in collaboration with international technical partners like the Kijani Group, the initiative integrates advanced water infrastructure—such as chlorine-based purification and solar-powered boreholes—with a climate-aligned financing model by eliminating the need for households to boil water with firewood, the project is projected to generate 60,000 Gold Standard carbon credits annually, while simultaneously empowering communities through a women-led « Bleach-for-Health » network that strengthens both public health and local economic autonomy. This 20-year vision moves beyond temporary relief to address the structural obstacles to independence, ensuring that clean water and health serve as the foundation for long-term community stability.
